Martensitic Stainless Steel

Martensitic stainless steels are used in mildly corrosive environments, such as sweet (CO2) wells. These alloys are typically quenched and tempered to achieve yield strengths in the range of 80 to 140 KSI. The primary alloying element in martensitic stainless steel is chromium. The chromium content may range from 10.5% to 18%.
